National Children's Week 2016

Aussie children are fortunate to have a good quality education, but this is not the case for many children around the globe.  Universal Children’s Day asks that we reflect on what we are doing to ensure that children have the right to enjoy childhood.

National Children’s Week in Australia is an annual event that celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood. It is also a celebration of children’s talents, achievements, skills, abilities, and citizenship.  Australia is a fortunate country which embraces and welcomes diversity.  National Children’s Week gives us another opportunity to celebrate what we are doing well for our children but also time to reflect on things we can do better.

There are activities happening right around our country so join in the fun at your school, preschool, library, community centre and other places in your local community.  Spend some time with the kids and talk about other children around our world and how we can make sure every child has the right to enjoy their childhood.
